No-Egg Eggnog

Go Bananas

Yes, you read correctly. We are going to share a recipe for an alcohol-free eggnog that doesn’t include the namesake ingredient—eggs! We’ve also substituted low-fat milk (or any nut milk) for the usual cream, and bananas and dates in place of refined sugar. The result is a surprisingly close resemblance to the original that’s easy to whip up for your next special occasion. With protein from the milk and antioxidants from the dates, it’s the perfect way to indulge in the holidays without feeling naughty!

Ingredients:

  • 2 frozen bananas
  • 1 1/2 cups low-fat milk (or any nut milk)
  • 1/4 teaspoon each of cinnamon, nutmeg and clove
  • 2 pitted dates
  • Handful of ice

Directions:

Toss all ingredients in blender at high speed and blend until smooth. Yep, that’s it.
