- Don’t skip taking medications because blood glucose readings are in your target range.
- Do reach out to your doctor three to five days before your prescription runs out to ensure you receive your refill on time.
- Monitor and write down your blood sugar readings.
- Bring your blood sugar record to your doctor visits.
- Check expiration dates on all medications.
Your doctor may suggest medication to control your diabetes. Taking it as prescribed and tracking how it is working for you will help you and your doctor develop a plan that will be most effective in treating the disease.
